What does this mean?

Welcome to Our Garden — We’re So Glad You Came!

Here you’ll discover key halachic issues found in any home garden:

  • Buying new saplings?
Look for a tag showing the tree is from a supervised nursery — it also tells you when the orlah years end.

  • Planting different species?
Leave 12 cm between two annual plants. No separation is needed between perennials.

  • What about plants growing together in one pot?
Measure the distance where the stems meet the soil — leaves touching is fine!
Check us: are the stem bases 12 cm apart?

  • Have a grapevine?
Keep annual plants away from it and from under its branches.

  • Using herbs from the garden?
Remember to separate terumot and ma’aserot and check carefully for insects.

  • Visit our fruit orchard too!
Don’t forget to tithe before eating.
